
The Island Alliance is proud to support scientific studies and natural resource projects taking place within the park in cooperation with the National Park Service. In 2003, Island Alliance funded a day long symposium hosted by the that featured presentations and discussions on science topics relevant to the management of the Harbor Islands.
In 2004, the Island Alliance supported efforts to protect nesting least terns on the islands. In 2005, Island Alliance celebrated biodiversity days and provided funds for public events, with nature and harbor tours. Also in 2005, island habitat restoration projects were piloted in conjunction with the National Park Service; these volunteer projects have been expanded and continue.
